Many Businesses operate in the valley. Although it is predominantly a fruit orchard area, lots of other produce are grown including many types vegetables, mushrooms and truffles.

Marron, Deer and Eggs are also grown and there are also properties that breed and sell Alpacas and Horses.

Large Nurseries that grew Carnations, Proteas and Chrysanthemums for cut flowers, were flourishing but due to market trends they have now closed or changed direction.

We also have Cabinet Makers, Water Drillers, Irrigation Suppliers and Cartage Contractors who all operate good, long established local businesses that appreciate your support.

A Motor Mechanical business is alongside the local General Store & Post Office which offer good personal friendly service that you do not get in the larger suburbs.

A couple of Cold Stores also carry a large range of orchard related equipment, clothing and chemicals. Invaluable knowledge is available from their staff who are familiar with local conditions

The Pickering Brook Sawmill, which was the old small case mill, now only supplies firewood.
